Questions
How are counters chosen?
Purely by calculation. Every pencil with published numbers is tested against the opponent and ranked by how often it wins. No ranking is written by hand.
Why is a low-average pencil sometimes a good counter?
Because only the numbers read against that opponent's symbol matter. A pencil with a modest overall average can still hold very high numbers in the one set being read.
Is the highest win probability always the best pick?
Not always. A counter that wins 60% of the time consistently may suit a long match better than one that wins 65% with wild swings, which is why risk is shown alongside.
